Cinnamon-Spiced Brussels Sprouts

Cinnamon often get typecast for its role in baking and sweets. But discount in what it can do with clove-like scent and warm flavor when taken to the savory side.

Cinnamon is naturally sweet so add it where you use sugar. If you want to balance the acidity of the tomatoes by adding sugar, use cinnamon instead.

Instructions
  1. In a large skillet heat 3 Tbsp olive oil over medium heat.
  2. Stir in 1 tsp ground cinnamon increase heat to medium-high.
  3. Add 6 cups of shaved brussels sprouts.
  4. Cook and stir 5 minutes or cook untill tender.
  5. Drizzle with 1 tbsp lemon juice
  6. Season with 1/2 tbsp salt and 1/2 tbsp pepper.
